Kotta is an iceball of a planet with a dense and lush mushroom based ecosystem below the surface. A focus on learning about the planet led to unexpected discoveries about the mushrooms, allowing breakthroughs in medicinal science. Now it boasts the ability to cure most diseases, although few visitors will ever leave the sterilised areas built around the teleport gates.

Key Locations:
Quarantine Zones: Sterilised areas, completely artificially built where the teleport gates to the planet are. High peacekeeper numbers, the few native humans are in sealed exosuits all the time and rarely leave. Thorough decontamination processes are implemented at the single entrance to each zone.
The Nursery: The primary farm site for the fungus. Developed for efficiency and to encourage maximum growth; where new strains are bred and samples are taken to encourage new growths throughout the caves.
First settlement: To remember how life on this planet started, the first settlement was preserved when the surface was built up. The buildings were expertly carved into the cave walls. It provides sentimental value to the colonists, and reminds them of their rough start on the planet.
