One of the early colonies founded by Cyte, Torque was quickly established and became quite prosperous but roughly at the same time an asteroid destroyed one of their continents, an EMP knocked out external communications, and almost immediately a civil war broke out and utilised the planets impressive array of defences upon itself. At which point an unlikely bunch of individuals got together and toppled the clearly self destructive government and have found themselves in charge ever since. In a mere 6 hours the surface of the planet was left uninhabitable and the vast majority of the population died. The rest fled to deep bunkers underground.
